Frieden Wolf Law is an intellectual property and media law firm. Jamie L. Frieden, Principal, draws on her background in entertainment law and commercial litigation to help clients effectively protect their rights, tell their stories, and run their businesses. She started Frieden Wolf Law after practicing for over a decade with Leopold, Petrich & Smith, a boutique entertainment law firm specializing in the defense of media clients in intellectual property and First Amendment issues. Clients included many well-known studios, networks, streaming services and production companies including The Walt Disney Company, NBCUniversal, Netflix, Lions Gate Entertainment, BET, and Sony Pictures Entertainment. She often analyzed scripts and films (both English and Spanish language) for legal issues such as copyright, trademark, defamation, right of publicity and other rights concerns before the final product was released. Before working at Leopold, Petrich & Smith, Jamie worked for Reed Smith LLP in their litigation group, where her practice included pharmaceutical defense, product liability, and commercial litigation. Jamie went to law school at U.C. Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall) and served as Executive Editor on the California Law Review. Jamie is a Trustee on the Board of Los Angeles Copyright Society and served on the Women Who Lead Board of the Association of Media & Entertainment Counsel (AMEC). She was recognized between 2013 and 2017 as a Southern California SuperLawyers “Rising Star” in Intellectual Property Litigation and as one of Los Angeles magazine's “Top Women Attorneys in Southern California.” Jamie is licensed to practice in the California and Minnesota state courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the Fifth Circuit, and the United States District Court, Central District of California and Southern District of California.
